34. Anne Frank Lived In Germany Before Moving to Amsterdam
Anne and her family are true Germans in the sense her parents, Otto and Edith, and her older sister, Margot, were all born in Germany. Anne never remembered much of Germany because her family moved to Amsterdam around the age of four.
The uprising of Nazi Germany started years before World War II began, and Otto knew that his family remained in danger if they stayed in Germany. While they tried to leave for the United States and possibly other countries, they only receive acceptance to move to the Netherlands. The Frank family made their move official in 1933.
