11. Iconic Apple Discovers a 15th-Century Hospital
Apple had made countless technological discoveries, and it apparently hires construction teams that make discoveries too. In July 2013, construction was underway on a new Apple store in Madrid, Spain, when they uncovered the remains of a hospital from the 15th century.
The hospital played a considerable role in the care of plague patients, though it was decommissioned and destroyed in 1854, then paved over. Four years previously, they discovered the remains of a church right next to it when a new railway station was being built. A viewing window was constructed around the ruins to preserve them and allow onlookers to see them. Following suit, Apple did incorporate some of the historic finds into its newly constructed building.
