The CIA Had Multiple Failed Ridiculous Plots to Kill Fidel Castro
The former President of Cuba, Fidel Castro, was hated for being a ruthless dictator. During his reign, there were no less than 634 attempts to assassinate him. And yet he managed to survive all of them, dying of natural causes at 90 years old. The CIA was responsible for many of these failed attempts, and after a while they had to get creative. Some of the most bizarre missions included an exploding cigar, but the box of cigars was delivered to the wrong person. Another time, they planted a colorful explosive seashell under the ocean where Castro was known to go scuba diving. Along those same lines, his scuba suit was infected with a deadly skin disease. But he ended up using a different suit instead.
