Nikola Tesla

Nikola Tesla, the famous inventor, lived a life of brilliance and turmoil. He was left penniless residing in a small hotel room in New York City. At this stage of his life, Tesla had become a vegetarian. He survived solely on milk, bread, honey, and vegetable juices. Nikola Tesla spent his days in a park surrounded by his beloved pigeons. His sleepless nights were consumed with mathematical equations and scientific problems that he worked on in his head. On January 7, 1943, Tesla passed away alone in Room 3327 of the New Yorker Hotel at the age of 86. An assistant medical examiner later examined Tesla’s body and concluded that the cause of death had been a blood clot in the arteries of the heart. Two thousand people attended a state funeral for Tesla at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine on January 12.
