The World Wide Web was Created due to Workplace Frustration
Many inventions are made out of searching for better ways to do things, but one of the world’s most important inventions was made because of workplace inefficiency. “TIL Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web in 1989. CERN’s website breaks it down best: “Tim Berners-Lee, a British scientist, invented the World Wide Web (WWW) in 1989 while working at CERN. The web was originally conceived and developed to meet the demand for automated information-sharing between scientists in universities and institutes around the world.” This is a pretty fancy explanation for simply trying to make sure that you’re not having to do as much work. But as the saying goes: “Work smarter, not harder.”
