Margaret Tudor
Margaret Tudor was the sister of King Henry VIII of England and Queen Mary I. Each of her three marriages played a role in the political landscape of Renaissance England and Scotland. Her first marriage was to James IV of Scotland. Their son became King James V. Margaret helped negotiate the Treaty of Perpetual Peace between Scotland and England, which aimed to bring peace to the region. Her second marriage was to Archibald Douglas. But the marriage was annulled due to political pressure. Margaret’s third marriage was to Henry Stuart, Lord Methven, but he died soon after. Margaret was known for her political skills and her role in shaping the course of UK politics. She was a strong-willed woman who was not afraid to assert herself, even in the face of opposition from powerful men.
